How to get a life insurance producer license in Florida.

## Requirements at a glance

- **Regulator:** Florida Department of Financial Services (Division of Insurance Agent and Agency Services) (https://www.myfloridacfo.com/division/agents)
- **License:** 2-14 Life (Including Variable Annuity) Agent License
- **Pre-licensing education:** required — 40 hours
- **Exam provider:** Pearson VUE
- **Fingerprints / background check:** required
- **Renewal:** every null year(s)
- **Continuing education:** 24 hours per renewal period

## How to apply

Create a MyProfile account and apply online with DFS, complete the 40-hour course, submit electronic fingerprints (IDEMIA), and pass the Pearson VUE exam

## Notes

Florida licenses are perpetual with no renewal application as long as the agent stays appointed (lapsing after 48 months without an appointment), with 24 CE hours including a mandatory 4-hour Law and Ethics Update every 2 years.
